Haw Jimmy!
Right, my name is Jon or as I was once known, "Oor Jon". I was born in Lanark, Scotland and emigrated to the United States as a teenager. I have built a life here in the U.S., yet I still consider myself a Scotsman. I am like a time traveler caught between two very unique points in both space and time. I love everything Scottish, but still appreciate all that the United States has provided for me throughout my life here. I have served the citizens of the states in which I have lived, while honoring the tradition and legacy of my Scottish forefathers. I have come a long way from the, "lanky wee bugger", who got into all sorts of mischief in and around Stonehouse, Strathaven, and the greater Strathclyde area. I have experienced both Scottish and American education systems. I have worked in a variety of jobs from grocery bagger to Deputy Sheriff, all the while feeling I was ignoring a big part of who I am. So, many years on and many life altering events later I have started this discussion with you. A discussion about being Scottish, being American and growing up and older stuck between the two. I am Scottish, I am American, and I want to share BOTH with you. Won't you join me for a while. Ye jist micht think it's braw, ye ken!
